Lean body mass is the basic calculation of your weight compared to your fat and your muscle. Most body builders have a high LBM because they have a lot of muscle, little fat, but still a lot of weight. If you are trying to achieve a higher LBM you have probably run across some information that is less then true. Here are a few common mistakes that people make when building lean muscle.

First off, the way you workout has a big effect on the type of muscle you build. Lowering the amount of weight you lift, and increasing the repetitions does not help you achieve a higher LBM. You want to maintain as much muscle as you can when you are working on your LBM. More muscle is a good thing. When you are working out, try to use a lot of weight, and small repetitions. This will help you build muscle, while at the same time burn fat.
